Branson. Ugh.

Well where should I begin... Shane, myself, Ricky and Jessica headed to Branson this weekend. We were excited to get to the house and just RELAX. I've had a horrible cold the past few days, lost my voice and it's slowly coming back. Being pregnant means you can't really take much when you feel sick, so I am just waiting for it to pass and taking only what the Dr. said I could.

As soon as we got to the house it was 96 degrees in the house!!! The ac wasn't working and the temperature continued to climb. To make a looooooooooong story short someone came over, couldn't fix it and got us a hotel room down the road. The hotel was one-of-a-kind. The room was so hot and the mattress felt like they picked a rock up on the side of the road and placed it in the room and called it a bed. I slept horribly and meanwhile I'm pregnant and hotter than Haiti. I don't think you can really understand how I feel unless you have been/or are pregnant. I'm already hotter than a fried green tomato daily, and when there's no cold air I am just a basket case. It's the worst situation.

The night turned out better because I surprised the hubby with a Doppler and we got to listen to little Robertson's heartbeat. Going strong at 165 :) I'm just grateful we don't have to go without ac because I know there's a lot of people that do.

Today we went to Dixie Stampede and I loved it! Shane of course thought it was kind of dumb, but he loved the food. About that...you eat with your hands and they give everyone their own chicken. The waitress placed it on my plate and I became a vegetarian for the meal. You could see the feet and arms and it was like it walked onto my plate. GROSS! I couldn't help but notice the poor chickens butt hole so it was downhill from there. I loved the show though because I LOVE horses. I used to have them and it was one of my favorite childhood memories :) They're my favorite animal.

We are having a great trip though despite all the setbacks. We are back at the house and it's cooler now, so here's to a good night!

xoxo-

A fun weekend was had by all...

This weekend was a lot of fun! We went to Doe's on Friday with my parents to celebrate Shane's birthday! My mom is one of the funniest people I know and she LOVED the food. She told the owner how good the food was at the end and he said "I could tell" because she makes funny faces when she loves her food, LOL. Shane got some clothes from Banana so he was very happy and my mom and I ran into Reasor's and bought a little cake. No birthday is complete without blowing out candles in my opinion :)

Last night we went and saw SALT. It was way better than I thought it would be. It kept me on the edge of my seat and Angelina Jolie is just GORGEOUS. If you like action movies I would recommend it! We went to dinner before the movie at Hideaway with Adam & Sami. We are so excited that they just moved back to Tulsa! We love having married friends :) They introduced us to Orange Leaf after the movie and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. to say the least. They have 16 flavors of frozen yogurt and a huge topping bar. You pay by the ounce so it is pretty cheap! We will be making this part of our routine now :)

Today we went to church at GUTS. We absolutely LOVE this church and are excited we found our church home. We are excited about all of the people we will meet there!! I'm excited to get more involved once we join. We went to lunch with Shane's parents for his birthday and then had a fun day swimming and trying to come up with some baby names haha. That's all for now, I gotta take a nap :)

Last post on Chicago!!

Our trip to Chicago was WAY more fun than I ever thought it would be. I wish we lived there. The picture above is from Shane's birthday dinner at Gibson's. They had the most amazing double baked potato...so yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went up to the top of the John Hancock Tower to see the view ad it was gorgeous!!

Navy Pier was really neat. All we wanted was ice cream and every stand was out of it!

Dinner at Fire Place Inn

View from our boat ride

Transformers being filmed!

On the river

Giuliana Rancic!!!!! I freaked out!

My favorite place in Chicago a Millenium Park

During our 2 mile walk...Shane lied about how far it was.

At the aquarium :)

Would I go back to Chicago?? ABSOLUTELY! Next time it will be the 3 of us!!!!!

Life is sweet

I am FINALLY figuring this whole blog thing out. I still haven't told anyone about it because I want to make sure it looks okay first. When we got home last night from Chicago Shane's mom had put his birthday gifts in our kitchen and also a really sweet card to congratulate us on our baby :) She also gave us some newborn diapers and a little toy that will definitely come in handy. I guess the beginning of baby gifts is already happening, haha :)

We are so blessed and have the most amazing family anyone could have. I know that everyone says that, but trust me, if you knew our families you would want to be a part of it. It's funny because my family is VERY small. I mean it's me, my mom and dad. That's it. Well I have a half-sister that I'm the total opposite of...and I could say I'm closer to pretty much any acquaintance than I am to her. Sad? No, its actually for the best. Shane always has a hard time understanding why I consider some of my friends family, but I guess unless you have a really small family you don't fully understand.

Shane's family on the other hand is GIGANTIC. I absolutely love this and it's the big family I never had until now. Holiday's are tons of fun and theres always a birthday or something to celebrate constantly. We are truly lucky to have so much love around us.

Nausea is for the birds

Well, we just got home from Chicago. I now have a new favorite vacation spot. I am so thankful that I wasn't very sick to my stomach while we were on vacation. You know your pregnant when you go to The Original Pancake House and can't even stand the sight/smell of pancakes. A few months ago I could have eaten an entire order of them by myself. Today however, I am feeling the wonderful effects of pregnancy but I wouldn't change it for anything. It's hard to believe I am about to start the 2nd Trimester already!! Bring it on :) I wish I could make this post more interesting, but I have a date tonight with the upset tummy fairy.

Shane's 27th Birthday!

I've never been much of a blogger, but I'm gonna give it my best. Shane and I got married on January 30th,  of this year and have just recently found out we are having a BABY! We are more excited than words can say and hopefully this will be a great way to document things that happen along the way.

Today is Shane's 27th Birthday and to celebrate we are going to the top of the John Hancock Tower to have appetizers and then off to Gibson's Steak House for a meal to remember! I cant even really stand the sight of chicken or steak right now, but hopefully my taste buds change when we get there, LOL. We have been in Chicago since Thursday and have done some really fun things. If you ever come to Chicago, make sure and see The Second City. It is BY FAR the most hilarious comedy act I have ever seen live and it is better than a lot of SNL skits.

Starting tomorrow I will post pics etc...and make this more fun. Right now it doesn't matter, no one even knows this blog exists :)

Blogging...let's see how it goes!

I have ever been much of a blogger. I just feel like there is so much happening in our lives now and the best way to remember things is to blog about them. I don't know much about this, but I can assure you that I will learn. Give me a few days and this blog is going to have a major facelift. I want this to be an easy place for friends and family to come and see what the latest happenings are in our crazy, beautiful life.
