DIY Project: Framed Chalkboard and a Cute Timeout Chair!!!!

Yes, I realize Presley is only 5 1/2 months old BUT I found the CUTEST DIY project when I was browsing a trading post in Jenks. It's a framed chalkboard and I fell in love. Talk about easy! I used a vintage looking frame and got a hard backing from Hobby Lobby ($3.00) and used chalkboard vinyl (also from Hob Lob $7.99). The vinyl will make several chalkboards! I simply peeled the backing off the vinyl and stuck it to the backing. After it was applied I put the backing into the frame like usual and hot glued around the edges to make sure it was secure. I would have pictures of every step but it's SO EASY!!!!! I have it right outside P's door, so I can write down fun quotes, just that I love him, things we have to do each week etc...

I'm gonna be putting some other colorful frames around it so I'll post that when I'm done :) This is such an easy fun thing to do for any kiddo's room!!!

I love the frame!

I just wrote something real fast to show what it looks like, haha

So easy to make!

Since I am putting up pictures of it I'm also showing the HILARIOUS time-out chair we found. Just to be clear: I WILL NEVER USE THE HANDCUFFS ON P, it's an added touch to the jailhouse chair, lol. I also have no plans to use it, P is just too precious! I just think its SO hilariously cute!!! It's in the corner by the framed chalkboard.

I hope you enjoy this DIY project as much as I did!

From Milk to Squash?!?!?!

Last week on July 17th, 2011 Presley Trace Robertson had his first bite of REAL FOOD! okay, I don't always date things like that, haha BUT this is a HUGE deal! He's officially growing up before our eyes! Anyone that knows our family knows this is always a big deal. We have little "first bite" parties. Someone has the camera, someone is recording it and it's just a big deal. Here is some video of P Man the first time he ate! I made him squash with The Baby Bullet :)

Here's some of my favorite pics from the night :)

What's going on????

His concentration face :)

Yum!!!!!

The verdict?? He LOVED it! He figured it out pretty quick and now he has moved on to bananas and eats every bite. He wasn't the biggest fan of squash (although he ate it all)...but neither is mommy :)

I didn't know if making my own baby food would be easy or hard but it's so simple. I definitely suggest The Baby Bullet to any new mom! It comes with the cutest little serving jars too :)

DIY Project and a FUN weekend!

This weekend was full of FUN! Friday and Saturday I had a booth for my Vintage Couture kids clothing line! Everything is 65% off right now so be sure to take a look! Click Here to see the collection! It's amazing stuff for BOYS and Girls! You can't beat 65% OFF! A lot of sizes sell out when the season starts but it's worth checking!!

Today Presley went to his little friend Caden's 2nd BIRTHDAY! Caden is one of the sweetest little boys I know and Presley was so excited to go today, haha. Okay, okay he didn't totally understand but he did laugh a lot so he had fun :) Here is P putting his feet in the water at the indoor water park!

Heather, Caden's mom had a baby 5 DAYS ago for a wonderful couple who tried for years. She did the most amazing thing anyone could ever do! So she had a baby 5 days ago and the day after she was going out to eat and was back to normal. She's super woman. She even looks amazing ad it hasn't even been a week! Look at the adorable cake SHE MADE for his Birthday! "Caden's Cookie Jar" because he LOVES cookies. So cute!

I'm also starting a new DIY project. Do you have TONS of jewelry and you don't know what to do with it? If you're like me, mine is in bags, hanging in random places and really just scattered everywhere. I am going to make one of these!

I love the twig look! I'll post pics soon :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

DIY Projects Galore!

Okay, call me crazy, but the other day I saw an estate sale sign and I had to follow...

Shane thinks I am crazy for liking yard sales. Sure, most of them are full of junk and a waste of time. BUT you never know what you will find. Example: This blog post!

I found 3 items and spent $5.00! I got an old ugly window and two really neat vinatge lanterns. They just needed to be dusted off, wasp nests taken out of the top and scrubbed a little. Best $3 purchase I've made in a long time.

Now for the real project. I always have tons of ideas running through my head and this one actually came to fruition! I bought an old window for $2, he was going to just throw it away if it didn't sell. I took it home and immediately started my project. The first thing I did was clean it and sand off the chipped old paint.

Next, I taped off the windows and used some paper I had (I didn't have any painter's tape handy)

After a little spray paint and peacock feathers I already had, the old window is now glamorous and has a new home!

VOILA!!!!

Presley Update:

He got his first scratch yesterday :( He did it in his sleep. Even though this momma keeps his nails short it still happened. BOO! I know it's no big deal, but everything that happens with him is a HUGE deal! Haha

Delish Lasagna Cups!

So yesterday I made Lasagna Cups! I tried a new recipe and boy am I glad I did. They were a huge hit and I promise you, DELISH! These are so easy to make and are packed with flavor. Kids will love these too. The wonton wrappers are a healthy alternative to regular noodles. They give the soft texture on the inside and have a crispy edge around them. They're my new fav thing to cook with now!

1 lb lean ground beef
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1/2 of a carton of part skim ricotta cheese
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
36 wonton wrappers (located in produce section by lettuce and there's enough in one package)
2 cups shredded cheese (I used italian and mozzarella on top!)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown hamburger in a large skillet over medium high heat and drain. Add spaghetti sauce to remaining meat mixture and stir to combine.
In a large bowl, combine the ricotta the salt and pepper and stir to combine.
Coat a 12 cup muffin tin with cooking spray, and arrange a wonton wrapper in each cup.

Take  the ricotta mixture and divide it among the 12 cups (leaving some for the other 6 to make after these if you don't have two cupcake pans). After you place a teaspoon or so of the ricotta in the bottom, Top with half of the meat sauce, and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Place another wonton wrapper over the cheese, and repeat the layers by adding the remaining ricotta cheese, meat sauce, and top with shredded cheese.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the wonton wrappers are golden. Cool in the muffin tin for 5-10 minutes before serving.

ENJOY!!

As Fast As I Could

Tonight we went to the Josh Turner concert at The Hard Rock. It was a lot of fun and I won $15! I knew Josh Turner was a good singer but I REALLY like him! He sang a song called As Fast As I Could and it's probably one of my new favorite songs. It reminds me of Shane of course, because he came into my life and made me complete. It also makes me think of Presley because he really did get here as fast as he could, lol. I had no idea what an amazing joy would be in my life, smiling at me even when the rest of the world's asleep.

Now that he's here its perfectly clear, he was making his was into our lives and making us the happiest parents on earth!

Oh and I also made some DELISH lasagna rolls and I will post the recipe and other thingy-ma-bobs tomorrow :)

REAL Estate

Today was one of those days that just makes me feel oh so good! I listed a new house today and I also set up some showings for Saturday with another new client! I love having productive days like today! I also love the fact that being in real estate I still get to stay home with my baby and work from home. I never have to go into the office unless I just want to or need something I don't have at the house :)

I also have some DIY projects I'm working on. One that uses a window and the other ones are jewelry holders. I will post them soon! Tomorrow I am going to make 7up Biscuits and I'm real excited! I will post the recipe if they're really yummy. I am finally getting back into the grove of cooking. After I had Pres, the past few months the last thing I have wanted to do is cook. Maybe now since I am getting sleep I am turning into a little Martha Stewart??? Doubtful, but I am trying to learn new recipes.

I love making Presley things to wear and I need to make more time to do it. Here's a few pics of him in a onesie I made him. He's the cutest boy in the world! Take a look :)

One last thing...Big Brother starts TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Home of The Brave

Happy Fourth of July!!!!! I hope everyone reading this had an amazing day. I just wanted to also take a minute and say THANK YOU to everyone overseas fighting for our country. Without all of the men and women selflessly protecting our country, we wouldn't be the country we are today. Ricky (Shane's cousin) has been in Afghanistan for a few days and will be there for the next 10 months or so. Please keep him in your prayers. We miss him already and pray that God keeps his loving arms around him and protects him from any harm. Meet Ricky :)

Right before he left, he proposed to jessica who also has a blog HERE. She always has yummy recipes and also talks about the ups and downs of being engaged to a soldier who is currently overseas. Check it out! Please keep Jessica in your prayers too! I can only imagine how incredibly hard it is to have the person you love the most so far away. Hopefully they will have Skype though and be able to at least talk online!

This was Presley's first 4th and he LOVED the fireworks!!! I will post some pics tomorrow of him watching them (toooooooo cute). Here's a few of him just hangin' out today :)

He has been such a good little traveler on this trip. He rarely cries and when he does it's for good reason. I feel blessed! Tomorrow morning we head back home and will say goodbye to Branson. It's been so much fun just spending time with Presley's GiGi and PawPaw (my in-loves) in-laws is what you say when you don't really like them, lol. I know Presley has loved spending some quality time with them. He's grown up so much just on this trip!

God Bless The U.S.A. and God Bless my little scrumptious Presley!

Branson and all the things that come with it...

Oh Branson, we meet again. Shane and I don't come to the condo very much because Branson just isn't what it used to be, lol. It's still nice to get away though and just relax. It's Fourth of July Weekend which means it's Prelsey's FIRST FOURTH OF JULY!!!!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!  We are relaxing which was on the agenda and it's giving me time to do some creative stuff and blog :) I cooked breakfast today and made creamed eggs. My great-grandma used to make them and it's been my favorite breakfast food since I can remember.

Yesterday, July 2nd, Presley started TALKING. Like not real talk but baby talk. He now knows how to use his tongue when he talks and it's precious! He is quite the little charmer already. We went to Branson Landing yesterday and he was just laughing and cooing at everyone. He loves attention already. I knew he did though, since I give him all of mine constantly haha :) I made this real fast...because I thought it was cute :)

I have also been listening to the Casey Anthony trial some since we have been vegging out. I must say, I wish it was an eye for an eye. That may be bad, I know, but I just know in my heart she did it. The rest of America probably does too and she will probably get off or something. I wish that she had the same thing done to her, that she did to Cailee. That precious baby didn't deserve what happened to her. It just breaks my heart for her and all the babies out there in those crazy, horrible situations.

On another note, I have a new listing this week hooray! I love real estate so much. I get to stay home with my baby but also help people buy and sell there homes. It's so much fun! This past week I went out one afternoon when Pres and I weren't playing (because that's what we do allllllll day) and took letters to some FSBO homes. I also attached a fun little 4th of July gift :) Well, that's enough happenings for now. It's almost the 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
